Analytical Critique of ICT Policy for Education in Namibia: Focus on Overall Goals
The role of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in education will significantly change learning experiences and will prepare the students to face the various challenges of the 21st century. Overall goals in the ICT Policy for Education in Namibia include those relating to creating ICT literate citizens and improving educational administration. This essay critiques two specific policy goals: (1) Produce ICT literate citizens and (2) Open up access for quality educational services to learners at all levels of the education system. The discussion analyzes experiences in the School Based Studies (SBS) at Mukwe Senior Secondary School, focusing on challenges and opportunities in achieving the goals of the policy.
